MEETING IN MALTA

Learning/Teaching/Training Meeting in Malta

18-22 April 2016

MINUTE OF THE MEETING

In the meeting all partner institutions participated, as following:

Romania: 3 teachers and 7 students

Finland: 3 teachers and 5 students

Greece: 3 teachers and 13 students

Italy: 2 teachers and 6 students

Teachers and students from the hosting institution

The objectives of the meeting were:

  • Carrying out workshops for recycling glass

  • Preventing waste generation through innovative methods and strategies

  • Raising awareness among students regarding environment protection

  • Planning the course syllabus regarding environment protection

     The meeting started on Monday with the school visit which was very interesting due to the presentations made by students of different classrooms. They described the traditions of the countries they come from (Newark School is a private school where students from about 20 countries study). Another very interesting presentation was the one about the history and traditions of Malta, a very beautiful country.

     On the second day the host institution organized a visit to Green Skips Services Ldt, which deals with recycling and also a conference with the theme „ Enterpreneurship and Green Jobs”

    The workshops were organized in four groups: Paper Mache, Collage/Mosaic, Decoupage, Instruments. All participants worked with pleasure, they made practice exchange and learned new things to be shared at home with the other students and teachers in their schools.

    Project sessions for discussing the course syllabus were also organized.

   Very interesting was also the visit at WasteSev Malta where the participants learned interesting things regarding the governmental recycling programmes in Malta.

  The show performed by the students from the host institution presented different traditions and customs of different countries represented by the students of the school, songs about Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and a show realized with the use of the instruments made by students during the recycling workshops.

There were exhibitions with the objects realized by the students during the workshops, but also games and competitions in order to check the cultural and linguistic exchange among the participants in the meeting.

At the end of the meeting all participants received certificates of participation.
