MEETING FINLAND

Learning/teaching/training activity in Finland

6 -10 March 2017

The 4th learning/teaching/training activity was held in Klaukkalan Koulu, Klaukkala, Finland. In this meeting there participated 28 students and 12 teachers from Romania, Greece, Italy and Malta, together with students and teachers from Finland.

. The objectives of the meeting were:

- Carrying out workshops for recycling metal

- Preventing waste generation through innovative methods and strategies

- Raising awareness among students regarding environment protection

- Discussions regarding the scripts and rehearsals of the plays to be acted in Romania.

 During the meeting in Finland, the hosts were pleased to show participants how recycling and environmental protection is arranged in Finland. There were visited Vantaan Energia, Sorttiasema in Ruskeasuo, metal recycling plant Valtee in Nurmijärvi, Viiri second hand shop in Klaukkala and talked about recycling in detail. As the working material was metal, in the workshops students made robots out of different kinds of metal. Once the robots were ready the students used them to make animations with ipads. These metal robot animations were presented in the International Evening. Students, parents and other members of the community came to see the show. Each partner country had also an information stall where they presented their country, school and recycling. The visiting students stayed in host families and many friendships were formed. The hosting institution also organized a visit at Nurmijärvi municipality’s oldest school to show participants what foundation the Finnish School system is based on. At the end of the meeting, participants received certificates of participation and europass certificates.
